The BBG works in various chapters throughout Tanzania, including:

Coastal Chapters

Dar es Salaam Chapter

The British Business Group was initiated in June 2009 in Dar es Salaam, and was formally established in August 2010.

The Dar es Salaam Chapter was established following the creation of the National Executive Committee in 2011. It currently has around 120 members within a wider network in excess of 160 people.

Members meetings are held bi-monthly, but it is usual to have 9 or 10 meeting per year with the Committee meeting every month.

Zanzibar Chapter

The Zanzibar Chapter of the British Business Group covers the islands of Unguja and Pemba.

The Chapter Representative also sits on the central committee of the BBG and can be contacted at admin.bbg@gmail.com.

Northern Chapters

Arusha Chapter

The Northern Chapter of the British Business Group covers the arc of highlands from Ngorongoro to the Usambaras including; Babati, Arusha, Moshi, Mwanga, Same and Lushoto. The Chapter contains a wide range of businesses, with strong representation in the Tourism, Agriculture & Food Production, Transportation & Logistics and Manufacturing & Retail sectors.

Launched at the joint BHC/BBG/UKTI gathering at the Arusha Hotel on 14 March 2011 it was formally adopted as a Chapter at the 2011 AGM. There was also a formal inaugural opening ceremony at the Mount Meru Sanctuary in November of 2011 which was presided over by Prince Charles. It is the largest and fastest growing of the Chapters and currently has 100 members within a wider network of around 120 people.

Members meetings take place every two months on alternate months to Dar Es Salaam although there also an initiative to link all members from all chapters to all meeting using an online video conferencing portal such as Zoom. Chapter Committee meetings.

Central Chapter

The British Business Group next intends to launch a Central Region Chapter. This will cover the zone from Morogoro to Tabora in an east-west direction, and from Kondoa to Ifikara on a north-south axis. This geography is largely a response to road connections.

It is likely to be centred on Dodoma, but it is probable that the initial development will be centred on Morogoro.

Lake Zone Chapter

The Lake Zone Chapter of the British Business Group covers the northwestern part of the country including the towns of Mwanza, Musoma, Bukoba and Shinyanga and the Chapter network contains businesses from many sectors including fishing and agriculture as well as gold, diamond and nickel mining and the services that support these activities. Within the region, Mwanza City is recorded in the UN habitat report as the fastest growing city in Africa and has a population of 1.5 million.

Launched at the joint BHC/BBG/UKTI gathering at the Tilapia Hotel on 15 March 2011, it currently has 6 formal members within a wider network of around 25 people.

It is actively seeking to increase membership, to be able to host regional events.

Southern Chapter

The Southern Highlands Chapter of the British Business Group will cover the zone from Iringa through Mbeya, westwards to Sumbawanga, and southwards to Njombe and Songea. It is currently at an early stage of development.

It was launched at a joint BHC/ BBG/ UKTI meeting on 28th March 2011 at Neema Crafts in Iringa. It is currently an informal network of around 15 people.

It is actively seeking to increase membership, to be able to host regional events.
